Paithalmala Tallest Peak In Kannur District With A Year-Round Cool Climate

Paithalmala Trekking

Both heavy rain and summer seasons are excellent for Paithalmala wildlife trek. The June-October monsoon period offers a great photographic prospect in the misty hills and forests. In the cool weather following monsoon, the grasses and plants grow to their most, so walking becomes hard. Summer is a little tougher because leeches are ordinary and the weather is harsher. The most excellent time for Paithalmala trekking is possibly between January and March.

You can enter at the top of hill from Kappimala next to Alakkodu. The Pottenplave route has a motor able road till the initial point of the trek. Plus, several resorts are coming up on this route. The hilltop is 6 km from the Kudiyanmala starting point. En route, there are charming waterfalls and forest.

The observatory tower on the peak is a 45-minute walk from the Paithal Valley. It offers a stunning view of the Kannur District. In fact, a walk from the loom to the forest reaching the end of the Kappimala trail is the most appealing part of the Pythal Mala trek.  Moving up, you can get a charming view of the Coorg Forest and Paithalmala waterfall on one side and the Paithal Valley on the further.
